| Antique cast iron garden bench or settee in the 'Curtain' pattern labeled 'Peter Timmes Son, Brooklyn, N. Y. and on the back: 'Pat. May 7, 1895. The beautiful and detailed design is a combination of the leafy S-curves and scrolls of the Rococo and the symmetry and formality of the Renaissance Revival, with the skirt showing Moorish inspiration. The Timmes firm held the patent on this settee, and made elegant gates, urns and garden furniture. 40in H. 43 1/2in W. 18in D. $3500. |
